Most visitors to the area tend
to stay in Mammoth Lakes and June Lake during their vacations.
Year-round residents and second home owners sometimes prefer
the slower pace offered in many of the local "bedroom
communities".
- Aspen Springs - Located
just south of the community of Crowley Lake. All parcels
here are approximately 4 acres or larger and zoned equestrian.
- Crowley Lake -
Many of Mammoth's families have chosen to make their homes
here at this lower elevation just 15 minutes south of Mammoth.
There is a small convenience store and gas station serving
the needs of locals and visitors. The name sake lake provides
ample opportunity for fishing, boating, and water skiing.
Second home owners have recently begun to take notice of
the better climate at this lower elevation, and casual life
style only a short drive away from Mammoth's skiing, golfing
and dining experiences.
- Hilton Creek - Located
just west of and adjacent to the Crowley Lake community.
Many homes in this highly desired area are built along the
various branches of Hilton Creek which provides for idea
settings amongst mature Aspen and Pine.
- June Lake - A small
town of around 600 residents situated around an alpine lake
overlooked by Majestic Carson Peak. Located a half hour
north of Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, offers a small family
ski area for winter recreation, and a chain of beautiful
fishing and boating lakes dotted with lodges and boat rentals
along the shores.
- Mammoth Lakes - Located
Approximately 325 miles north of Los Angeles, and 32 miles
south of Yosemite National Park. Year-round population approximately
7,100, swelling to more than 35,000 on a busy weekend. Mammoth
Mountain offers world class skiing typically between
November to July. Two golf courses, a wide range of lodging
and dinning facilities and access to the famous John Muir
wilderness.
- Mcgee Creek - Located
just off Hwy 395 between Mammoth and Crowley Lake. Small
subdivision tucked in to the Aspen along Mcgee Creek. McGee
Creek inn and restaurant is a popular local attraction.
- Paradise - Located roughly
half way between Mammoth and Bishop. Paradise is a bedroom
community to both Mammoth and Bishop, and enjoys incredible
views of Mt. Tom and Pine Creek Canyon. Nearby Paradise
restaurant is built right over lower Rock Creek, and is
a must experience.
- Pinon Ranch - Exclusive
two acre equestrian parcels carved into the high desert
among Pinon trees and large boulders. Expansive views across
the Owens Valley as well as nearby Sierras.
- Rim Rock Ranch - Latest
subdivision adjacent to Pinon Ranch offering identical setting.
- Sunny Slopes - Located
just across Hwy 395 from Tom's Place. Private homes built
among mature Jeffery Pine forest.
- Swall Meadows - Situated
high on the shoulder of the Wheeler Crest above Pinon Ranch
this unique area enjoys breathtaking and commanding views
of the Sierras, and the White Mountains across the Owens
Valley. Most parcels of land here are much larger than the
typical lots in the larger communities.
